The 2 day Rwanda Gorilla Trekking tour start with pick up from your hotel in Kigali city around 6:30am and then our professional safari driver guide will brief you about the safari as you transfer to Volcanoes National Park. The park is renowned as home to endangered mountain gorillas which were first habituated by Dian Fossey an American primatologist and spend most of time with the gorillas. For her great effort, that’s why mountain gorilla still exist and also increased their numbers with her sustainable methods which are still used to date. Truly, her great work in protecting these gentle giant, it has impacted a lot on Rwanda’s tourism industry.

Day 1: Gorilla Trek in Volcanoes National Park
Depending on your agreed location in Kigali city, our driver – guide will pick you and transfer you to Volcanoes National Park. Arriving at the park headquarter at 7am for gorilla trekking briefing about rules and what to expect and getting a chance to book your porter and all the hiking gear you may need. You will then hike into the forest in search of the gorilla family assigned to. Trekking experience can last between 2 to 7 hours depending on their location in their nature environment. On finding them, you will be allowed an hour to enjoy their presence and taking photos for your future remembrance.
After your gorilla trekking adventure, walk back to the starting point to be rewarded with your gorilla certificate. Thereafter, connect back to your booked accommodation for late yummy lunch and spend the evening at leisure. Or optional – you can choose to do community visit among others. Connect to the lodge before the sunsets have dinner and overnight.
Meal plan: Lunch and Breakfast
After a delicious breakfast, followed by check out and set the journey to Kigali with an en-route Doan Fossey museum visit, where you will spend about 2 hours learning about the great work done by the famous Dian fossey with artifacts that belonged to her along with the beauty of the Virunga ranges. This is a marvelous walk through the museum. After, connect back to Kigali for lunch and if time allows, you may visit Kimironko market to purchase some local souvenirs for the people back home. On arriving, you will be dropped off at your agreed location in Kigali, thus marking the end of your 2 Days Gorilla Trekking in Rwanda and Dian Fossey Museum Safari.
